Think of this
One of my pillar passes on
They cry with me as their own
They cook and eat and stay a while
And then they vanish, disappear into the wild.
I live to cry and call for help
Food, school fee and upkeep
But nobody ever steps up
Since they’re busy dealing with the water in their own cups.
Eleven years down the line
They come once again
Now talking about how I’ve grown
And how they left me so small and waned
Did they really want me to remain
Like they thought, helpless and maimed
By life’s calamities???
This world nice as it is
With all it’s jewels and niceties
Keeps me wondering
How humans came to inherit and plunder
Wasn’t there anyone else???
As much as we’re not supposed to break ties
With family and relatives
But somehow along the line i had to think twice
Ones who forsake you in need
Have already broken their cords
With you
Why keep binding????
