It is said that for you to be your best, you have to know exactly who you are.
Frankly, that is one of the hardest things to do as a person. For those of you who are trying in whatever form or way to answer this question, I tell you that you deserve a break y’all. They, you, we, should all give you a break.
Discovering who you are in a personality bullying society like ours is horrific in definition and close to dreadful in practicality. But amidst it all, y’all have to agree with me that you can speak for who you are not. Because when searching for your identity, many options and paths made by friends, imposed by your parents and judged by the world often leave you confused. And more so, feeling lonely even when you’re surrounded by people.
When you start by crossing out who you’re not however, it becomes so much easier to discover who you are, what you like and love, hate and dread… Because the options are a handful to choose from.
With this you start knowing what you’re all about. Then when things get a bit clearer, you can proceed with the million dollar question of your identity. Even expand on the possibilities of becoming more.
This is a brilliant idea I came across and thought to share it with you. Trim down on who you’re not and everything attached to it and you’ll have a base of who you are.
